You told us: I'm not noticing much yet
It can take time to notice a difference.
Treatment starts on a low dose and is stepped up in stages, usually 4 weeks at a time. Many people notice less than they expected at first, and results vary from person to person.
Before your next review
What to look at, and what your prescriber will look at with you.
Look beyond the scales
Changes in appetite, portion size, how your clothes fit and your waist can show progress before the scales do.
Weigh in weekly, not daily
Weight goes up and down day to day. Once a week, at the same time, gives a fairer picture.
Take it as advised
Taking it as your prescriber advised, without missed doses, makes a difference. Only your prescriber can change your dose.
The official guidance for these medicines asks prescribers to review treatment if you haven’t lost at least 5% of your starting weight after a set period of at least 6 months. If that applies to you, your prescriber will talk to you honestly about whether to continue.
